December 13th - Week Review

Highlights

The Show Must Go On was a HUGE success, which was performed by the Division II students and teachers. The performers worked very hard and their efforts paid off, as we had a very successful production on Wednesday and Thursday night!

We have been continuing to work on our class project where students have become entrepreneurs by planning and creating their own businesses. On Friday, Baker and Fuller (A/C) students had the opportunity to sell their goods and crafts and Koch and Hobbs (B/D) had the chance to purchase. On Monday, we will switch, so all students get to have the experience of selling and buying from each other. This has been a very successful project where the students learn many skills from. They have had to incorporate business plans, logos, slogans, sales pitches, store fronts, advertising, teamwork and creativity.

In Math, we are continuing to develop our multiplication skills.  We have been working on 2 digit multiplication and will continue to practice until the winter break.  Please continue to help your child practice and memorize their multiplication facts up to 12 X 12, as this is very helpful when learning the steps for multi step multiplication and for when we start division right after the holidays.

Secret Blog Mission: If your child brings in a small piece of paper with my on it (and their own name as well) and gives it to us first thing on Monday morning, then they will get a surprise.

Reminders

Calgary Food Bank
From now until December 17th, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Calgary Food Bank.  Foodbank boxes are now placed around the school to accept any and all donations.

Appropriate Winter Dress
As our weather in Calgary is constantly changing, please ensure that your child has proper winter wear at school.

Please ensure that your child also has indoor shoes at school, that they can be wearing them during school hours.  We continue to practice fire drills during the winter and the students are expected to have shoes on as they cannot stop and put shoes on if the fire bell rings.
