The Grade 5 Team hopes that you have a wonderful long weekend and enjoy your weekend with your family and friends. We are thankful to have the opportunity to work with your child every day!
Highlights
Students continued to explore the regions of Canada. We will be exploring each region by looking at the capital cities in each, animals, natural resources, landforms and interesting facts. We had a quiz on the Canadian Provinces, Territories and their Capital Cities. Ask your child what their score was.
We started our math study of place value. The students are looking at the ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands and hundred thousands columns and will begin to regroup numbers when adding, next week.
This week the students had the opportunity to participate in the Buffalo Teachings with Ryan Jason Allan Willert and will continue to work with our Artist in Resident to create a mural in the multi-purpose area.
Dragonfly watercolour art is now on display in our classrooms. We will be looking specifically at the dragonfly as one of the creatures that is specially adapted to live in the wetland.

There will be a slideshow of family members of any SVS students or staff that have served the Armed Services. If you have any pictures/ information, please it to send to Mrs. Reeve at lareeve@cbe.ab.ca.
