March 2nd - 6th Week Review

Highlights

Poetry
This week, students created a blackout poem. They each chose a page of text and circled words to make a poem. The last step was to blackout the background with either an image or a colour.

Social Studies
In Social Studies, we are continuing our study of the Indigenous Peoples of Canada.  We listened to stories from both the Inuit and Metis and discussed their beliefs regarding the relationship between the people and land.

Math
We have completed our Measurement and Geometry Unit and had our test today. It will be passed back early next week. We will begin our Graphing Unit on Monday.

Science
In Chemistry, we looked at reversible and irreversible changes. An experiment involving three different kind of mixtures showed us the difference between mixtures and solutions. We also looked at the solubility and saturation points of some substances.

Physical Education
Next Friday March 13th, we will be having our Winter Sports Day snow or not!  Lunch will run from 11:30am-12:00pm and students will not be going outside. Instead at 12:00pm students will return to their classrooms for attendance and then head to the gym for the kick off assembly.
